Since we are not super comfortable traveling across the USA at this moment, we have not let that stop our adventure seeking. The kiddos love being outside and need a change of scenery from time to time. Keeping safety and distancing in mind, we have been doing weekly picnics in different destinations. We have been keeping with state parks and campgrounds for several reasons.

  1. We know they are open and being managed.
  2. We like to see where and even if we can park our 42 foot fifth wheel now.
  3. Pets are allowed. Abby has enjoyed being able to come along on every trip now since we don’t have to leave her in a vehicle to run into a store.
  4. They are beautiful. Arkansas is a true gem when it comes to campgrounds and state parks.
  5. It is relatively easy to social distance with fellow visitors.
  6. It keeps us motivated to keep working towards the ability to travel full time.

It is so peaceful up there and a great time to drive up the mountain. It seems like every time we’ve visited for our anniversary, the drive has always been super foggy. It’s clear and beautiful when you get to the top, but it’s a feat trying to make it there without getting carsick.

It has not gone unnoticed though that they pose “normal” with Scott. What is it they say? Mama gets all the drama. That is very much true in this case.

Our Covid version of a tail-gate picnic.

It’s challenging to keep any kind of normalcy at this time. So, instead I think we are just coming up with some new normals for our family. Sunset picnics have been something the kids have been enjoying, which keeps us motivated to keep finding new things for the kids to enjoy to help make them and us feel less impacted by what is going on right now. Feel free to share if you have any fun covid friendly activities your family is enjoying right now!

My bible lesson today included this verse, which has always been dear to me when life dishes out it’s challenges.

God Bless!

Hi There! We are Scott and Jamie. We’ve been married over 10 years, have 2 wonderful children (Ava & Shepard), 18 chickens, and our beloved maltipoo Abby. Thanks for reading about our journey!
