Our dear Ava had another t-ball game this week. She did great, but man was she having some good luck on her side. Her first batting, she delayed running to first base for nearly 5-6 seconds and still was safe. So, my voice box was already sore just from her first time at bat. Her first time making it to home base she did a butt slide.

Then, the bases were loaded and she was on third. Like always I reinforce to her that she has to run fast towards home as soon as her teammate hits the ball. I keep forgetting to reiterate how important touching the bases are. So she takes off and completely jumps over home plate while the back catcher has the ball trying to tag her. They do a little dance and either one of them just has to touch the base to score a point or get an out. During their little tango and parents yelling on both sides, Ava manages to touch the base and score a point for our team. That one really had me sweating!

So, I made some shirts to support and encourage her. Mine just says T-Ball Mom and has a baseball with Ava’s name on it. With much reflection of what t-ball brings out in myself, these shirts would probably be relatively accurate.

At some point in the future, she may ask me to remove her name from my shirt and my husband will start wearing disguises to games.

In other fun, the kiddos planted their own little fairy garden this week.

Scott has been working on making a frame for the sawmill, so we can cut lumber up to 16 feet. Yay! I have become more excited about the sawmill than I expected to. My project list in my mind just keeps going and going.

This Week’s Books

I was looking for some starting Kindergarten inspiration and came across “We don’t eat our Classmates”. It was definitely a comical lesson of learning to get along with your classmates. It ended up being Ava’s favorite for the week. Shepard really liked “No Place Like Home”.

Shepard picked out “RRRALPH” on his own and requested that one a lot. “I Spy Under the Sea” was a fun read. My favorite for the week was “Sealed With a Kiss”. I loved it because the main character is a French seal trying to make friends with her Frenchy voice.

Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu

  1. ABC Chickpea pasta topped with spinach artichoke sauce and grilled chicken with a side of carrots.
  2. Chicken Alfredo pasta with green beans & bacon, and apples.

Some new tries this week! I am loving how versatile the spinach artichoke sauce has become. I will be sure to share the recipe for it. Speaking of new sauces I found Primal Kitchen’s Dairy Free Alfredo sauce and gave it a try. I added some green onion to it and it did not disappoint. This was an exciting find because Scott and myself haven’t had a good Alfredo sauce since transitioning our diet.

Farm Animals

Two of my faves. These girls are besties and definitely my broody girls. A week from now we should be hatching some new buff orpington chicks. And in a week and a half we should have some new baby silkies and easter egger chicks arriving. I am interested in seeing how my broody girls will respond to them.

Thankfully, these guys still have puppy breath for the most part, but their addiction to the old garlic and onion patch on the property is not going to help with that.

Ninety eggs donated this week! Scott milled some wood for our blessing box and now we are waiting for it to cure so we can build it, get it set up and going.

Fitness/Health

Not too much and still some to share on this aspect. I’ve had 3 medical trips this week. One for my second Covid-19 vaccine. Another for pelvic ultrasound and another for PCP exam. My gynecologist and PCP are working together to figure out if my health problems are stemming from possible endometriosis or Crohn’s disease. Both I think are on the same thought of it being caused by Crohn’s. I will be getting further tests to determine if that is or isn’t the case.

It is crazy because I have thoroughly researched this before when Scott was going through his health problems and we thought this might be what is going on with him. Never did it occur to me that it could or would become a problem with myself.

Regardless, anyone else have health changes occur at age 32? I dunno what the deal is. That is the age Scott had appendicitis and the extreme onset of his health problems. And here I am. Maybe we are just that weird, odd couple that has to live everything together. Scott literally had all my pregnancy problems when I was pregnant with both kids.

On Another Note…

I thought I would share this find. Ava likes doing these dot to dot activities. She says they are fun. In this particular one she can follow the dots with ABCs or numbers 1-50. I like how it makes her think constantly what comes next.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! God Bless!
