The title of this post says it all. We are a hot mess over here. But then again, I’m starting to think that our nature is just to be in a hot mess. Our daughter Ava had 3 days of “practice school” this week. We were initially worried about how she would be with her shy nature, but she loved it. She has asked a few times when she would go back.
In the last two weeks or less, we have moved from one tiny house to a slighter bigger tiny house. We had to make some preparations and fixes to make it family friendly. We are pleased with the outcome so far. We still have a few more fixes to make.
At the same time our barn home materials arrived, so we have that to work on as well. So, we are pretty much flipping and starting a build at the same time.
Shep came up with a new mustache look…his peanut butter stache.
We are lucky and blessed that we live near our sweet and helping family. We would be an even hotter mess if we didn’t.
This Week’s Books
“What Do You Do When a Monster Says Boo?” was definitely a favorite. Shep also really liked “I am so Strong”.
“Hip Hop Dog” was perfect for Scott. He got to put his gangsta skills on display for the kiddos. “Crackerjack Jack” was super funny. And of course both kids thoroughly enjoyed “Creepy Pair of Underwear”.
Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu
- Grilled chicken, arugula, avocado, pickles, green onion, basmati rice topped with Tessemae Habanero Ranch.
- Sautéed turkey with garlic, zucchini, squash, green onion, and baby potatoes.
Keeping it super simple around here. No recipes, just throwing some healthy foods together.
Farm & Garden
With this never ending heat wave going on, the kiddos did a great job helping out with keeping the animals cool, fed, and hydrated.
Bo really enjoyed being fed this way.
On Another Note…
Ava and Shep have been super excited about finding things for our new barn home. We went “treasure hunting” on the old house place. Ava dug up this dirty old rug. She wants it to go in the new barn. I love that she wants to recycle, but meh…we may do something unique with it…maybe. If Ellie finds it, we won’t have to worry about it.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week! God Bless!
