Well, it took three weeks of school before Ava came down ill. She has been tested for Covid, both rapid and PCR. They both came back negative, but I am still suspicious. I am probably going to have her tested again, definitely not because I just want to put my child through that. She absolutely despised it and will probably not be happy at all about doing it again. Her symptoms just keep coming and I definitely just want to be on the safe side. She hasn’t slowed down much at all. She has had flu and it was apparent she didn’t feel well at all with that. Hopefully, it is just a cold. And if it is, she is getting an extra long Labor Day weekend.

Shepard has a new food combination he discovered this week…..Jalapeños and chocolate milk. Not mixed together. He chomps down a jalapeño and washes it down with chocolate milk. We finally had to stop him because he just kept wanting more. We didn’t want him to get too “burny”.

Ava and Shep have found what they want to assist with on the barn build…..toilet pipes. They know what is important in a house! Literally, everyday we come over to the farm they ask me if they can go work on toilet pipes.

They have also been busy working on putting their artwork on the barn. *Side Note* – Ava’s shoes fit. She just likes to drive me crazy and wear them like this.

These are a few art works that Ava has come up with. Herself, a tractor, a turtle, and a heart.

Last but not least she displayed this artwork piece next to where she is also putting together her set of toilet pipes.

Well, I don’t know if we will ever get the kiddos to go back to their sand diggers after getting the opportunity to work this tractor. Ava was so proud of herself for what she could do on the tractor.

Little man says he is ready to crush things now. He told me to go to the barn so I wouldn’t get hurt when he starts his crushing.

Gluten Free & Dairy Free Eats

  1. Rice bowl with pork, butternut squash, zucchini, jalapeños, and fried pickles.
  2. AIP maple bacon patties with avocado, house fries, and steamed carrots.
  1. Lentil pasta with chicken, artichoke pasta sauce, and broccoli.
  2. Lentil pasta with bacon, zucchini, mushrooms, pepperoni, garlic, and turmeric.

The kids haven’t been fans of the fried pickles, but Scott and I love them. They add a yummy taste and texture to dishes. I also really like the combination of bacon, zucchini, pepperoni, and mushrooms. It made for a mild pizza pasta.

Farm & Garden

The kiddos helped me make a chicken swing. No takers just yet. I think we may have put it a little too high. They sure did stare at it all day though, so at the very least it gave them something else to look at.

So when I was looking at getting Great Pyrenees puppies…one of my motivations was that they have such a beautiful, majestic white coat. Ellie is beautiful but she most certainly could care less about having and or keeping her white coat…..white or clean for that matter. Anytime anyone asks me if I keep her or Bo inside the house, I can’t help but bust out in laughter. Absolutely not. Ellie enjoys her swims with the ducks and rolling all over in the dirt. Bo just enjoys the dirt. He’s not a swimmer.

The Barn Build

Our porch has a roof! It is definitely starting to take shape into looking like a barn!

Exterior walls are going up too!

Scott got a kick out of his reflection in the dark on our newly put up wall.

My job this weekend was to be the driver and catch my husband if he falls….Thankfully he didn’t!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! God Bless!

Hi There! We are Scott and Jamie. We’ve been married over 10 years, have 2 wonderful children (Ava & Shepard), 18 chickens, and our beloved maltipoo Abby. Thanks for reading about our journey!
