Tiny Living/ Kids / Gluten & Dairy Free Food / Farm Animals / Fitness

It’s been a week! Both kids have been under the weather, but are finally on the mend. Colds apparently do still exist. Ava was tested twice for Covid and both times negative. It is no wonder why they both end up being sick together. This is them playing a game they like to call “the blanket game”.

We celebrated both kids Covid negative results with a picnic.

Ava got cleared to go back to school on Friday. Can you tell by the look on Shepard’s face?

We are also getting use to cooler temps in the morning paired with hot afternoons.

Decided to try out a new color. I think I am going to retire this one. It’s called Moccachino. It is a little more red than I wanted….or maybe a lot more red than I wanted.

Gluten Free & Dairy Free Eats

I’ve been sharing gluten free and dairy free meals, but I thought it would be fun and maybe helpful to share our go to gluten free and dairy free snacks. To be honest that it is probably one of the if not the number one hardest thing about having this type of diet. Finding snacks can just be incredibly difficult. I always make sure if we go places to have these on hand because it can be super frustrating trying to find something on a whim.

My kiddos absolutely love the Kind nut butter bars. The Zbars are also really good. I use to eat Little Debbies all the time when I was their age. These are the closest snacks I have found that have that yummy sweet taste.

Popcorn is definitely a favorite for myself, the kids, and the dogs. If we are snacking outside we tend to share….. after all it’s hard to ignore puppy faces. Vegan whipped topping is definitely a family favorite. Pair that with some cashew butter and dairy free chocolate chips = Yum-o! Scott likes to snack on the dates. I make them with some dishes. I don’t give those to the kiddos since they are pitted. Recently, I found these açaí bites and they are yummy.

Farm & Garden

Ava and Shepard have helped me put together a few chicken swings for the coop. We have a few hens who have braved them.

We also made one for the silkies and Easter Eggers….no takers in there yet.

Since we’ve enclosed the barn, Bo & Ellie are always in there. I really hope they are not getting the wrong idea here.

Speaking of Bo, he is all about the kids. If he wants lovins, he goes to someone his size or well at least almost his size.

Another sweet breed we have on the farm are the ducks.

Ava is all about giving her birds hugs.

The Barn Build

We’ve had some more great progress this week.

Ava and Shepard had a mystery to solve at the barn. It was up to them to figure who crashed into the barn? The suspects included Daddy, Uncle Dan, or Uncle Vince.

Turns out………it was Daddy!

The barn is all enclosed and windows cut out…..minus the 4 additional windows I just ordered. Hehe.

I hope everyone has a joyful week! God Bless!

Hi There! We are Scott and Jamie. We’ve been married over 10 years, have 2 wonderful children (Ava & Shepard), 18 chickens, and our beloved maltipoo Abby. Thanks for reading about our journey!
