We had a terrific Halloween weekend. All the cousins got to get together and have some fun times.

I love that we all have girls. Seeing their personalities and our own traits show through them is both hilarious and frustrating. It bonds them and us together even more.

These two are the youngest. Aren’t they precious?!

Shepard is blessed to have the best biggest sister he could ask for. We are so proud of how willing she is to do anything for her little bro. In fact, we found her brushing his teeth for him the other night. I guess he decided he didn’t want to do it himself and Ava offered to help.

“Pick me up Ava cuz I love it so much”. She even picks him up when he asks because he loves it so much.

Abby joined in the Halloween fun as a pirate.

My poor sweet girl didn’t have a great start to the week. She came home early on Wednesday not feeling great. She was feeling better during the day Thursday and Friday.

Friday morning at 4:00 a.m. she gave us one of the biggest scares we’ve ever had when she woke up crying because she couldn’t breathe. I rushed her to ER while Scott stayed back to comfort poor Shep who was upset and missing Ava. She was negative for Strep, Covid, and RSV. She had some x-rays taken, which she thought was the coolest thing. It ended up being croup. She quickly got better that day, thank goodness. Nevertheless, I had no problem looking and being a zombie for Halloween.

Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu

I cannot live without tacos. Tacos = Happiness. So, I was overjoyed to find some grain-free taco shells from Thrive Market. I recommend these if you too need tacos for happiness in your life.

These were my Halloween cupcakes.

Farm & Garden

Our chickens absolutely love being spoiled with bananas for treats.

The ducks are so fun to watch and they are loving that their pond is getting filled up even more from all the rain this past week.

The Barn Build

It has been a busy week for work being done to the house. We found out Tuesday that our slab was going to get poured on Wednesday. Scott had most of the plumbing finished, but we still had a bunch of prep work to do before the slab could get poured. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful family willing to help us in these situations. It was definitely an all hands on deck situation.

Shepard was so excited to get to see the concrete mixer in action.

And we officially have a floor!

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! God Bless!

Hi There! We are Scott and Jamie. We’ve been married over 10 years, have 2 wonderful children (Ava & Shepard), 18 chickens, and our beloved maltipoo Abby. Thanks for reading about our journey!
