Ava has apparently been bringing her creativity with her to school these days. She won a coloring contest in her class for her red ribbon week color page. I find it sweet that the class got to vote for their favorite. She definitely has a knack for being creative. All of her school work that she brings home usually has some extra doodles on it. We’ve been making homemade birthday cards for the family birthdays and she always finds a way to make each one unique to the person she is making it for.
So sweet!
Aves also got her second star student award for being respectful. It’s definitely a great feeling to know that she has been seen as being a willing and respectful student. #ProudParents
Kid Books
My book recommendation for a good laugh: “Who Wet My Pants?”. I really wonder sometimes why our kids can be so immature at times, but then I find my own immaturity appears out of nowhere in odd places like the type of books I pick out to read to our kids.
Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu
I had some leftover frosting from Halloween cupcakes and the thing that came to mind to do with that was to make whoopie cookies. Yum-o! These cookies remind me of going to the mall and stopping at The Great American Cookie. #Nostalgia
My new favorite winter soup at the moment : White Chicken Chili. For the dairy free version I use coconut milk. I’ve only tried collard greens in this soup, but I am curious how other greens would taste in this. I may have to try out some kale or mustard greens and determine my favorite because you just never know sometimes what will be available at the grocery store.
Farm & Garden
The kids and I are loving the different colored eggs we keep finding in the coop. It just makes us want more chicken breeds to expand our colored eggs even more….hehe.
Our big fur babies Ellie & Bo love their biscuit treats, so Shep and I thought we would be bop over to visit Maggie and treat her to a puppy biscuit.
The Barn House Build…
We have most of our windows installed now! Much to my annoyance we would have them all installed and be gearing up to start siding, but my big picture windows arrived to the store damaged. It just really stinks to order something, get preparations underway, and then find out it arrived damaged and is no longer in stock. I quickly ordered replacements that weren’t my original choice and was told those would be here mid-November, but now it is looking like they won’t be here until after Christmas. #Bah-humbug
It looks like we will be moving on to other things in the meantime. I was just really hoping we could get the outside stuff done before it gets terribly cold outside. Scott wanted to be done with all of it by Christmas, but even with windows I don’t think that would be the case. It’s ok to dream though.
I hope everyone has a fabulous week! God Bless!
