Shepard and Ava received a new addition to their playground. Mimi decided to give them their Christmas present early so they could enjoy it before it gets too cold. And enjoy is an understatement. Shepard still has some growing to do before he can do all the tricks Ava can do. She is nice about it. “You just gotta grow bigger like me before you can do these amazing things, bud.”
Although he retired from work, we seem to keep Uncle Vince pretty busy around here. Even Shepard sweet talks him into work like cleaning off the trampoline.
Even though Shep is a pretty smooth charmer, his sweet talking didn’t convince Uncle Vince to jump and Auntie Jo Jo is happy for that!
For whatever reason we lost power one night and we are a family that cannot sleep without fan noise. So out came the battery powered fan and it made for “fan fun” the next morning.
May I present a Shep in the box!
Kid Books
Shep loved “Dig, Dump, and Roll”. Pretty confident he can read that on his own now after how much we read this book. “Subway” was neat because it talked about the subway in New York City. It brought back memories of one of our vacations we spent in New York City with just the two of us awhile back. All of us were happy to find a new Lllama Llama book in “Llama Llama Meets the Babysitter”.
“Pirates Allowed” was a fun read. It’s always a fun time when you get to read with a pirate voice. “Scarecrow” was so precious I almost cried while reading. It is definitely a heart squeezer!

GF & DF Shortbread Fudge Bars
These were so good! I use to make raspberry fudge pie bars back in the olden days as our kids say. I’m confident these would be an amazing GF & DF substitute for those with the addition of raspberry jelly.
Farm & Garden
We don’t even have the porch poured yet and already these guys are placing themselves there. I have a feeling this is just them giving us a glimpse of what their future plans are.
Shepard and I raked up some leaves and dumped them into the chicken runs and it made for a henny party. They were quick to start scratching through the leaves and investigate.
The Barn House Build
Well, I expected this at some point but we have gone a little backwards in our progress on the barn house this week. Scott started on our insulation, but after some research and consulting we have decided to go a different route. It’s ok because we are going to sleep better going another direction. We are pretty indecisive people, but I am hoping this isn’t going to be an ongoing occurrence.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week and God Bless!
