Happy Mother’s Day!
Lot’s of T-ball this week including pictures. I love my daughter, but oh my she makes me wanna pull my hair out sometimes. She is on the fair left making all the socially awkward poses while I am pleading with her to just smile. She is a mini-me of her daddy that is for sure!
I didn’t even have to say anything when I sent this picture to him. His response was Yap, just like daddy.
Thankfully, individual photos were better. I wish we had started with those maybe she would have had time to warm up. Anyway, we shall see what we end up with in the next few weeks!
This Week’s Books
Would you believe Shepard found these books on his own in the library? Little man has an obsession.
Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu
- Basil lentil pasta topped with spinach artichoke sauce and Italian sausage.
- Strawberries with almond flour pie crust, sugar, and almond milk.
One of my absolute favorite Spring/Summer desserts is strawberries with pie crust. My mom made this a lot when I was a kid and I loved it. So, I decided to introduce it to my kids. Shepard once again proved he is my child because he really liked it. Ava, well she is her daddy’s child because she would much rather eat a jar of peanut butter. Anyone else go through 2 big peanut butter jars every week?
Farm/Garden
Louise has been sneaking in and out of the coop lately. I will have to fix her little secret escape spot. So, she was out one day and the kids came running up to me saying “Mom, Louise has an egg stuck to her bottom!” I say “you mean she is sitting on her bottom laying an egg?” They say “No, Mom she has an egg stuck to her bottom!” So, we go ever to check this situation out and sure enough Louise literally had an egg stuck to her little fluffy bottom. I just picked her up and let her fluff her feathers and problem solved. This was a first and quite the silly sight.
We absolutely love silkies. They are so good with the kiddos. Shepard has been taking Thelma for bicycle rides. She doesn’t seem to mind too terribly much. This definitely would not be the same case with our other hens.
The baby chicks are growing! Almost 2 weeks old!
I can’t get over how adorable the Easter Eggers are!
Fitness/Health
I thought this was pretty cool. If you have a Fitbit Versa, you can check your nightly average breathing rate. Increases or decreases can signify certain health conditions.
On Another Note…
My Mother’s Day gift from Scott. It is not completely finished yet, but that is because my hubby always goes overboard on such projects. This is my blessing box. I love it and I am so excited about it! I painted him a mental picture of what I was picturing and size wise. He took that idea, added more detail and much more size!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day and a fabulous week!
