For starters, we have this one registered and tested for Kindergarten in the fall. It is going to be such a big change around here when that starts. Some days I cannot wait until she goes to school, but most days I know I am going to miss her dearly. I’ve been with her pretty much everyday all day since birth.

A fun day trip to Silver Dollar City!

These two crack me up! We should recreate this every year as they grow older!

Shep requested a monkey from the magic balloon man. Apparently it is another talent that Scott holds, so I ordered some more balloons for him to test that talent out with the kiddos.

And tons of water slide action! This is the 3rd year we have had this and it is still holding up quite impressively.

Spending time with our sweet furry niece Charli! Scott is regretting not getting her another furry cousin…haha!

Summer Books

“Even Monsters Need Haircuts” was adorable. “Margritte’s Marvelous Hat” was also quite a neat book!

Every time we go to the library, the kiddos always migrate to the feelings books. No shock to me that we are the first ever to check out “Disgusted”. That is always a topic of feeling in our house for whatever reason.

Scott took charge and rapped the “Rappy Goes to School” book. “Grumpy Monkey” was funny. I also really liked “Moon’s First Friends”. I thought they did a great job storytelling man’s real first journey to the moon.

My favorites for the summer so far have been “Barnacle is Bored” and “Quit Calling Me a Monster”. I love the humor.

Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu

It’s all about the beverages! Pretty sure Midtown Coffee Express is going to know be by name and order before the summer is over! That is a mocha frappe made with almond milk by the way! I have recently become a fan of the V8 sparkling energy drinks. I have to have some form of caffeine in the afternoon. It is usually iced coffee, but I like trying new things. Black cherry is my favorite so far.

Ava gets her own peanut butter scoops now. It is one of those new big girl independence habits. I say scoop, but pretty sure she shovels out the peanut butter just like her daddy.

Farm & Garden

We are happy to announce that we will be selling eggs from the farm now!

This fall we will hopefully have silkie eggs too. Pictured is Big Poppa Pip. I call him that not because he fertilizes any eggs, but because he acts like the silkie chick baby sitter.

Two of my favorite Easter Egger girls. On the left, I call her Bluey. She is precious, always falls asleep when I hold her.

Bo has a turtle obsession. I have never seen so many turtles in my life. I have rescued I think about 13 turtles from his clutches. Any time I see him by himself playing with something or fighting Ellie over something, it is always a turtle.

I really hate this, but this is the last picture I will ever have of Bonnie. I will miss seeing her napping on my grill and all her silly shenanigans. She passed on Wednesday June 23rd. She just got very ill very quickly. I took her to the vet and she was positive for feline leukemia. She could have had it at birth or gotten it from the saliva of another cat. It is a fatal disease comparable to AIDS in humans. She was the sweetest cat we have ever had and is very dearly missed.

These situations are hard, but they also keep me grounded in knowing that Life is a vapor. I want to spend what time I have making the most of what we are given.

I hope everyone is having an amazing summer! God Bless!
