Two weeks of school already! Ava is still enjoying it. In fact, she has asked me on both Saturdays now why she isn’t going to school today. We are still not receiving a ton of details about her days as of yet. She talks about this friend she plays with at recess every day. She doesn’t know her name, so for that reason alone I know this person exists because she has never been short on names for her imaginary friends. From my mommy interrogations, I have uncovered that she is not in the same class, she dresses super cute, wears bows in her hair, and is not in car rider line with her. One of these days, I expect to uncover the name of this mystery friend. Ava told me she asked her name at recess one day, but forgot. She is very much a Scott Jr.

Ava’s favorite color is cyan. In case you were wondering what that color is…it’s like a teal/aqua color. She learned this color from an educational Youtube channel and has used it to describe colors EVER since. I believe she learned this when she was maybe 15-18 months and definitely didn’t forget it. And now Shepard uses it to describe as well. I can just picture her saying that at school and other kids being like what??

Next week is “All About Me” week at school. Ava’s All About Me is all over the place. I asked her the questions and wrote the responses she gave me…..no matter how off the wall they are. I want her to be her own person. She definitely is.

Week 2 of school and Shep is still doing just fine. He sweet smiles his way into getting suckers from the bank tellers.

Little man loves some yogurt and pretending his orange juice is coffee. He is our little old man.

It is pretty evident that they both miss each other during the day. It’s always a party around here when Ava comes home. One would think she would be tired after being at school all day….but no not at all.

A Ranger full of kiddos! So glad we decided on a 6-seater. It’s like the minivan of Rangers! Haha.

These two are absolutely precious!

Gluten Free & Dairy Free Eats

  1. Taco bowl with grass-fed beef, cabbage, black beans, pineapple, and avocado.
  2. Buffalo chicken with basmati rice, tortilla chips, and carrots.
  1. Chicken apple sausage with pineapple chunks.
  2. GF & DF Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins. These are so yummy! You can find recipe here.

Pineapple has made a few appearances in meals this week. I love using pineapple in savory dishes. It is definitely not fall yet..weather wise. However, I refuse to cut muffin season or pumpkin season short just because it is still super hot. I may still be wearing tank tops, shorts, and sandals in November, but I will be sure to have my pumpkin latte paired with my pumpkin spice muffin.

Farm & Garden

We discovered a much loved treat for the chickens….pineapple.

I love watching them eat juicy fruits. They obviously love the taste, but absolutely hate having the juice on their faces. It is so funny to see them swishing their faces in the dirt to get rid of the juice.

In this picture from left to right we have Speckles, Pip, Thelma, and Leo. Ava has since named a few more including the name Lotus for one of the Easter Eggers. If she continues this type of naming, I will be exercising my right to name her future children.

Ava was so excited to introduce her chickens to cousin Everly. This is her introducing “Tiger”.

This is “Fluffy”. Everly seemed to really like her and “Princess”. Ava will turn her into a farm girl too in no time! Haha.

The Barn Build

We have a roof this week! Progress on the porch is also being made this weekend.

Our little piece of the country!

I hope everyone has a cheerful week! God Bless!
