Scott has been a busy beaver this week working on one of our bigger projects….the pond. We have talked about doing this for years and finally started the process this fall. We both enjoy fishing. In fact, we spent a lot of date nights back in the day going fishing. Our dream for the pond is to be able to make memories teaching our kids how to fish and spending time with friends and family around it. And of course…..filling it with ducks and cute baby ducklings.

Shepard has moved on from his/Ava’s old baby swing. He is into the big boy swing and teaching himself tricks.

The kiddos had a customer at their playground cafe this week. She came with her body guard…Pip. Ava’s specialty at the cafe is salads with caterpillars and Shepard specializes in wooden cookies.

I believe this hen ordered Ava’s salad with caterpillars. She seemed to have rave reviews for it since she came back for seconds later.

Shepard and Ava make getting my steps in for the day more fun. It’s always a race with them.

This Week’s Books

“Giggle, Giggle, Quack” was an adorable read.

“Horse meets Dog” was hilarious so I would have to recommend. “There was an old lady who swallowed a Bell” was one of Ava’s favorites this week.

“Chicken Story Time” was Shepard’s absolute favorite for the week. He thought it was so funny that chickens kept wanting to get into the library to read with the children. It probably reminded him a lot of our situation…hehe. “Fangsgiving” was a favorite for both. It was requested at bedtime for a daddy read, which he did quite well.

Gluten Free & Dairy Free Menu

Kid’s Favorite GF + DF Snacks

Rice Krispie treats or in this case we made some fruity pebbles treats.

Kind Granola bars…..my personal favorite snack too. I keep these handy in my purse at all times.

Happy Tot smoothies. My kiddos love these. I also keep these handy for travel and also throw them in for packing up a quick picnic.

Farm Animals

The quackers are going to love having a pond! However, they seem perfectly happy even with just a small water hole. They are even content with just a water hose running on them. Our flock seems to be pretty happy go lucky unless they’re hungry, but luckily we are pretty use to that around here and know how to fix that.

I love having goats! I picked all my weeds out of my greenhouse this week and swept them out. Instead of having to haul them off, I brought Sammy and Dean over to chew them up for me. They are my cute “weed eaters”.

Isn’t she precious? Scott is not a big cat person, but I think Bonnie is winning him over.

Workouts

I managed to squeeze in three workouts this week. To be honest I did Cathe’s Butts & Guts on Tuesday and my legs were so sore I waited until Friday to attempt another workout. Another oldie, but a goodie. It has just been awhile since I have done this one and apparently it woke my lower body up.

On Another Note…

I have been Christmas shopping for the kiddos and I haven’t really been looking at Barbie much….until now. I love the Orchard Farm Barbie stuff. They even have a Farmer Ken!

This Week in the Shop

These were added to the shop this week. I love making and wearing these earrings. They are super lightweight and pair with anything. I also enjoy making hair accessories for Ava. I prefer hair bows that have alligator clips, so I can just easily put them in place or work around a hairstyle. Feel free to check them out here.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe week! God Bless!

Hi There! We are Scott and Jamie. We’ve been married over 10 years, have 2 wonderful children (Ava & Shepard), 18 chickens, and our beloved maltipoo Abby. Thanks for reading about our journey!
